 This was the first hospital, established in the year 2004. It is a 28 bedded hospital, equipped with an Operation Theatre, Labour Room, Patient Wards, Neonatal Nursery, Pathology Laboratory, Dental Clinic and Out-Patient Clinics. Primarily focused on ensuring safe birth, obstetrics and gynecological care are the main in-patient services provided. The OPD, available for both males and females belonging to any age group includes General Medicine, Antenatal Care, Immunization and Vaccination, Dental Clinic, Dermatology, ENT, Laboratory, X-Ray and Ultrasound.
 
 
 
 Medicare Hospital – Noor Elahi Branch 
 
 
 
 This hospital, located on Ferozpur Road, was donated in 2016 to us by a philanthropist, Mr. Gulzar ul Haq. He was running it as a dispensary for limited hours each day, and wanted to transfer the reins to a reliable organization, so his noble work would carry on. After major renovation and reconstruction, the hospital was inaugurated by Medicare Health Foundation in April 2018. Since then, MHF have devoted ourselves to providing a range of medical services, and have introduced new specialties to cater to the growing demand for healthcare. Besides Gynecology and Obstetrics, the services also include Pediatrics, Orthopedics, General Surgeries, Dentistry, General OPD and Diagnostics.
 
 
 
 Mother and Child Healthcare Centre (MCH) 
 
 
 
 Funded collaboratively by Netherlands Embassy Islamabad and Medicare Health Foundation, the first MCH was established in Shadbagh in the year 2016. This facility, aimed at reaching out further within the underprivileged community, is a two-bedded normal delivery center established to displace unskilled birth practices, and improve maternal and neonatal health. Functioning under the close supervision of Medicare Hospital Badami Bagh, this center has a small team of skilled and competent nurses, certified to conduct normal deliveries, deliver neonatal care and monitor the growth of children. In case of medical complexities, the patient is referred to nearby Medicare Hospital in Badami Bagh.
 
 
 
 A Glimpse into Our Community Service Initiatives 
 
 
 
 Every year, as part of MFHs charity drives, they do gift distribution in poor communities on Eid and Christmas. Every Ramzan, give goody bags to patients at Childrens Hospital Lahore, while on Christmas they go to churches with gifts for underprivileged children.
 
 
 
 Medical camps and Awareness Drives
 
 
 
 To ensure the good health of the community, MHF regularly organize free medical camps whereby specialist doctors examine patients, who are also provided free diagnostic services as well as medicines. They also conduct healthcare awareness drives, so the communities develop the practice of preventive care.
 
 
 
 Mother Nutricare Program
 
 
 
 Expecting mothers coming to MHF from abject poverty are covered in this program, whereby they provide them with eggs, milk and essential vitamin supplements two times a week. This nutrition ensures that these women deliver healthy babies while maintaining good health themselves.
 
 
 
 Vaccination under EPI 
 
 
 
 Under this Expanded Program for Immunization, which is run by the government at MHF hospitals, children from ages 0-5 years are vaccinated free of cost against 7 deadly diseases as categorized by the World Health Organization.
 
 
 
 Starter Kits for newborns
 
 
 
 All babies born at MHF hospitals are provided Starter Kits, which contain clothing, wrapping sheet and other newborn essentials. The idea behind this program is that all babies should have a comfortable and protected start to life.
 
 
 
 Zargali Program
 
 
 
 For young girls in Badami Bagh and Shadbagh Lahore, MHF run a stitching school called Zargali (translated as Lane to Prosperity). Here, they are taught the art of stitching and embroidery from a professional instructor. After learning this skill, the girls acquire the ability to be economically productive and make their lives better.

Adams Fund", in honor of their late husband and father , Mr. Cary M.  Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC) works towards increasing the survival rate of children and teens with cancer or life threatening blood disorder in South Africa to 60% by 2030.   Since 1979, Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa, CHOC has responded to the needs and rights of children and teens with cancer or a life-threatening blood disorder, and their families; improving early detection and facilitating effective treatment.  CHOC impacts on 3000+ beneficiaries annually from diagnosis to remission or sadly end of life care through its Comprehensive Child and Family Support Program.  Our programme augments the medical treatment provided by paediatric oncology units enabling beneficiaries to access and adhere to their 7 month up to 3 year treatment journey through: - Free accommodation at our 13 child friendly houses including daily meals, laundry and return transportation to the hospital.  - Transportation financial assistance from the community home to the paediatric oncology unit and return ensuring beneficiaries do not abandon treatment. - Bereavement financial assistance to families on the loss of their child to cancer. - Psychosocial and emotional support through a team of 13 Social Workers and Social Auxiliary Workers based in the paediatric oncology ward holding the hand of beneficiaries from diagnosis to remission or end of life.  - Early detection programmes  and its referral pathways so as to increase the survival rates of children.  - Advocacy and alliances as CHOC serves as the anchor organisation for Childhood Cancer International contributing towards best practice implementation for partner civil society organisations in Africa in addition to lobbying for beneficiary human rights. - Our SOLID programme provides a platform encouraging a positive quality of life in addition to serving as ambassador sharing knowledge and experience to support and strengthen childhood cancer survivors  You, our valued well wisher have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children from low-income households across South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa, giving hope of a future for many children like Imi* below: My name is Nokuthula*, a mother to Imi* whom is 8 years old. We are from Centane in the Eastern Cape. In 2018; a small lump grew on the left side of her neck and the lump was getting harder even Imi* skin tone was getting darker. We quickly sent her to Tafalofefe hospital where she was seen by Doctors and they put her on TB medication for a month. We noticed that the medication she was taking during  treatment just made the lump grow  bigger. We returned to the hospital transferred to Frere hospital in July 2020. On arrival, different tests were done and blood taken.  We then went home to wait for results. During this time the lump continued to grow.  I felt helpless. We were shocked when the Doctor told us that my child has cancer in the chest and intestines. I don't want to lie; the news shocked us that as parents we only returned this year on 7th of February 2022 because of  Covid 19 challenges and financial issues. We were told my daughter would receive Chemotherapy for 4 months and together with 17 days radiation. Immediately when she received chemotherapy the lump disappeared. The Doctor with the Social Worker explained that my daughter will receive treatment for a year and they will monitor her progress. We were further informed that we would stay at the CHOC house for the duration of the 17 days whilst receiving radiation.  We arrived at CHOC, a big house with toys for kids and big sleeping rooms. I was so happy to see other mothers. We got everything for free, from food and warm water to importantly peace of mind and freedom. It was nothing like the hospital. We are still at the CHOC House attending 15 minutes of radiation in a day. We are very happy; we have 5 days left until we have an update on my daughter's cancer. Banco de Tapitas seeks to provide comprehensive support to more than 1,000 children and young people in Mexico who have been diagnosed with cancer through recycling campaigns nationwide. Under the motto "If life gives you caps, don't throw them away!", in April 2016 we launched our first campaign on Facebook, which reached more than 2.5 million views worldwide, this being the moment to promotion of this project. Throughout its history, Banco de Tapitas has managed to serve more than 1,000 patients directly and just over 2,200 indirectly through its allies, achieving recognition from the Ministry of Well-being and the Líderes del Bajío program in the social sector. High-quality and patient-centric network of Primary Healthcare Centres

In India, every year, 1 in 20 people (~60 million Indians) fall into a cycle of impoverishment because of a health shock. Health shocks, defined as unpredictable illnesses that diminish health status have a two-fold impact on one’s financial status through both the payments for medical treatment and the income loss from an inability to work. This forces many in India to adopt sub-optimal strategies of coping with this unprecedented financial burden, especially in the absence of a strong and well implemented public health insurance policy leading to a high proportion of out of pocket expenditure on health (65-80%). These include forgoing income, using savings, informal borrowing, using loans or mortgages, and selling assets and livestock. If a household head falls ill, family members previously not working may begin to do so to substitute for lost income and repay loans, sometimes dropping out of schools and higher educational institutes. This leads to a magnified negative impact of a health event as it feeds effectively into other forms of inequity.
 
 
 
 Based on a pilot that we ran with the International Labour Organization in rural Maharashtra, we observed that high quality primary care can reduce the incidence of such health shocks by half. While availability of qualified physicians is a key barrier in rural India, lack of quality and measures of accountability of providers is a problem both in urban and rural India. This results in wrong incentives for providers, unnecessary referral and subsequently delayed care for basic primary health care diseases. This is why we have spent the last 10 years building a network of ‘one-stop-shop’ primary healthcare centres that provide patient-centric, high-quality and accountable care at half the market rates. These medical centers provide general, dental and lab facilities to low income communities residing in Mumbai’s slums.
 
 
 
 In the last 10-years, we have been successful in creating the most innovative solutions based on a holistic set of values to support our communities in living a healthy life. Through (1) introduction of different types of warranties for dental procedures, general procedures, timeliness of reports, and for patients suffering from chronic conditions (2) a subscription model to raise affordability further and (3) a rigorous system of quality control through audits and collection of patient feedback, we have been able to reduce out-of-pocket expenditure and re-institutionalize trust and balance in the relationship between a medical service provider and a patient, challenging status quo.
 
 
 
 To measure the quality and impact of this network, we have in place a robust and transparent system. A strong data driven foundation and an independent quality monitoring team are two key elements of this system. We focus highly on metrics essential to measure impact of any health intervention and they lie in the three fields of health status, reduction of financial risk and patient satisfaction, according to a globally designed health systems framework. In a healthcare industry focused on measuring volumes and utilization, we believe that measuring patient satisfaction and patient recovery holds us accountable to our core values – those of striving for excellence and serving with empathy.

The BLACKSWAN Foundation was established in Switzerland in 2010 to contribute to the development of research on rare and orphan diseases worldwide.  Omigbefite is a non-profit community education and economic development society founded in 2005 in Loropeni, Burkina Faso currently seeking funds for drilled well construction to improve community access to clean water. Initially organized in 2005 as a community charity working to feed and educate orphan children, Omigbefite has expanded it's scope over the years to become a more general non-profit social and economic development society with education projects on Ebola and the toxicity of cyanide and mercury and projects in animal husbandry, gardening, mango cultivation and most recently the construction of wells and water distribution systems.  Omigbefite means: to help a brother in despair in the language of the Lopi people.  The organization plans to focus its efforts in the next few years on the construction of drilled wells and water systems in a region that receives adequate rainfall in the rainy season but suffers very limited access to clean water in the dry season. These drilled wells will provide improved water quality throughout the year.

The American Friends of the Papageno Foundation is established to support music therapy research for children with autism in the US.  Music therapy is a well-established professional health discipline that uses music as a the therapeutic stimulus to achieve non-musical treatment and goals. When Aaltje van Zweden-van Buuren and her husband, conductor Jaap van Zweden's, child was born with autism, this had and continues to have a huge impact on the family. In 1997, the couple established the Papageno Foundation. Now, 20 years later, Papageno has made a name for itself in the Netherlands. The Foundation has developed into a multi-faceted organisation which, through all sorts of initiatives and activities, focuses on the development of children and young people with autism: 
 Music therapy:  a national network of 25 qualified music therapists, who provide therapy to children in their homes.

 ABOUT US Ewang'an Nadede Advocacy Initiative (ENAI - Africa) is a community-based organization serving more than 3500 people living in Indigenous pastoral communities in Kajiado County, a remote rural region of the south rift in Kenya.  ENAI was established by Maasai community member Dr. Lanoi Parmuat to advocate for, protect, enlighten and empower Indigenous women and girls, 78% of whom the issue of female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage remains a sad reality.  Today our programs have grown to include: Education and Health Services * Anti-FGM Advocacy and Response * Food Security, Nutrition, and Livelihood Support * Natural Resource Management and Governance OUR URGENT NEED: WATER Kenya is currently facing its worst drought in 40 years.  The drought has wiped out crops, livestock, and deepened a growing hunger crisis. Acute malnutrition in children under 5 is prevalent and recent outbreaks of cholera have been reported due to lack of access to clean water. Currently, the community that ENAI supports has only one drilled well which serves 3500+ people and livestock and requires a 2–5-mile walk each day to collect water. This manually operated well serving 200 children has run dry and needs to be replaced SOLUTION: Drill 4 Water Wells (Bore Holes) 1 well = $20k Having a sustainable water solution in the community will:   Encourage  children to return to and remain in school through a school and community feeding program thereby reducing the rates of early marriage, teen pregnancy and creating a healthier community for everyone.   Enable  the pastoral community to water their animals and to plant and maintain trees, vegetable and fruit gardens. Enhance  the community's ability to respond and prevent waterborne diseases like cholera and improve general sanitation and health conditions.

 Patinaai Osim is a national non-governmental organization (NGO) founded and registered in Kenya in 2010 and started it's operations in 2019. Founded by Semerian Sankori a proud Maasai woman, she grew up seeing women disadvantaged at all societal levels. From the household level where they had no say on their rights and those of their children. at national level they were barred by their spouses from electing a leader of their choice among other rights. Where as Semerian was fortunate to attend school, many girls from her community didn't and sadly, challenges still exist. Something compelled Semerian to do something about this by being a voice and speaking against this oppression and this is why Patinaai Osim was founded. Since inception, Patinaai has made tremendous achievement, contributing significantly to national efforts aimed at eliminating discriminations against women and girls. Patinaai's vision is aligned to Kenya vision 2030 which strives for a collective aspiration for a better society by the year 2030. It further aligns to Chapter Four of the Kenya Constitution which, contains a progressive Bill of Rights which strives to guarantee the protection of minorities and marginalized groups. The organization's image as an NGO is to advocate for the protection of minorities and marginalized groups especially pastoral communities.   Patinaai has programs in  Education ,  Sexual and Reproductive health rights ,  Sustainable livelihoods  and  Environment sustainability.  By the end of 2022, Patinaai had reached out to approximately 5000 persons (including 1300 women, 700 youth and 3000 children) with comprehensive sustainable positive change related services. It is estimated that Patinaai reaches close to 7000 people with information that promotes positive behavior change towards the rights of children and women, education and elimination of harmful practices. We plan to reach double these numbers by 2025. The purpose of  Joliet Youth for Malawi:   Access Brings Change , a  donor-advised fund  at KBFUS, is to enhance the lives of people in Malawi, Africa. Partnering with Mary Mudron, our purpose is to bring access to water by creating borehole wells for hundreds of people in rural Malawi, Africa.  Through our friends, Fr. Elizeo Nthalika and Fr. Benedict Zele, we have identified two villages where our help is strongly needed.  Our goal is to start with the Chisawani and Chazemba villages and then move forward with others to provide essential positive changes in the lives of many. Currently, multiple villages with over 600 families share one borehole well.  Hundreds of people travel several hours and many miles to obtain water for their daily necessities.  Sadly, on many days, after walking this long distance these individuals find the well is dry with no available water.   Since 2017 our organization has raised funds to assist with providing clothing, electricity, water supply, books, and with the building of a school.  Currently, our focus is set on creating these two wells in the Chisawani and Chazemba villages which will each cost $5,000. All proceeds will go directly toward the needs of Malawi, Africa.
