 Colombia faces enormous challenges of access, quality and permanency in education. 75% of boys and girls from 0 to 5 years do not receive early education (Wasserman 2020), 42,8% of young people in the age range to be in 10th and 11th grade have a school to attend (Fundación Corona, 2019). Regarding quality, 33% of 15 year old students reach level 2 (out of 6) in the PISA tests (OECD 2018), and about the permanence of students, only 44% that start school finish 11th grade. This is exacerbated due to the armed conflict in Colombia, being the first country in LATAM where the first cause of death is violence. Displacement of millions of families has been a direct consequence of this, which added to the actual migration of Venezuelans, constitutes a big challenge to relocate and secure them job,health and educational opportunities. In 2011, a group of 3 young men came together to create an organization to address educational challenges. Enseña por Colombia has a unique, locally rooted but globally informed model, which has been successful in 60 countries that currently implement it. Our strategy is based on our belief that to tackle the educational challenges in Colombia we need diverse leadership on different levels of the system, so that diverse professionals, experienced teachers, students and school principals connect with the mission of improving education and achieve transformative results in themselves and in their communities. These experiences are lived through programs, learning communities, meeting places, and special projects that foster transcendent leadership. We have been working for 10 years to build a social movement that will one day ensure that all children and young people in Colombia have access to a high-quality education that will allow them to reach their full potential. Today, we see that this vision is a priority that requires transformative solutions that are current and contextually relevant. Our men and women in uniform continue to be at the forefront of the fight against Covid 19. Our valiant military personnel have been assisting the government in transporting medical supplies and personnel protective equipment, building quarantine facilities, providing transportation for essential workforce, installing mobile kitchens for the needy, manning checkpoints, and ensuring the safe distribution of financial and in-kind aid to our brothers and sisters in need. In the midst of these efforts, we honor the sacrifice of our soldiers who, despite the crisis, continue to die at the hands of the enemies of the state in Sulu, Aurora, and Negros Occidental.
 
 HERO Foundation has been helping the children and dependent siblings left behind by our military personnel who were permanently incapacitated or killed in action. Since it was founded in 1988, HERO has helped almost 3,000 orphans finish their education and pursue their dreams. More than 1,200 of these scholars have already graduated from college and are now their families breadwinners
 
 As we face an uncertain future due to the current pandemic, our HERO scholars need to be secure in the knowledge that they will still be able to continue their education and still be productive members of society because they have YOU to count on.

 Design and Technology Institute is a private technical and vocational education institution accredited by the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) in Ghana, on a mission to transform youth Technical and Vocational Education and Training  (TVET) livelihoods across West Africa.  The founder, Constance Swaniker, after graduating from KNUST saw the gap between academia and industry. She successfully established Accents and Art ltd. twenty years ago after learning her skills on the job and in industry. With this knowledge and experience, she founded DTI where there is focus on demand-driven and industry-relevant skills.  DTI has been established through a partnership with The MasterCard Foundation to provide opportunity for young people who are financially disadvantaged, especially young girls and women to acquire quality TVET, transform their lives and end the cycle of poverty.  Its vision is to 1) become West Africa's premier industrial job training and prototype center within 10 years, expanding access to training across the ECOWAS region. 2) To model green industrial practices, champion locally-sourced innovations, and celebrate gender diversity in male-dominated fields 3) To advocate for an enabling environment in West Africa for local manufacturing and sustainable jobs.  DTI offers two core programs:  i) Precision Fabrication (PF) for youth new to industry.  ii) Precision Quality (PQ) aimed at enhancing the quality of instruction at TVET instruction at TVET institutions and delivering training to master craft persons, artisans and SMEs.  We focus on what a student is expected to be able to do in the workplace - Work Place Learning - as opposed to just having theoretical knowledge.  We seek to augment our program offerings by continuous skills gap assessment with input from industry and buy-in from employers. Scholarships for students from low-income families in Northern Thailand

The Foundation for the Education of Rural Children (FERC) is a registered charitable foundation that provides scholarships for students from low-income families in Northern Thailand. In Thailand, the basic education is free but when a student reaches 15 years of age, parents have to contribute towards the school fees and continue to pay some of the other associated costs – uniform, transport, lunches, etc. A FERC scholarship, therefore, enables students from low-income families to remain at school until they are 18 years of age, to promote their ability to go on to further education or training, and to better employment opportunities in the future. FERC works closely with the area Education Authority and the teachers to identify the highly motivated students who are most in need of our support. FERC meets with the students twice a year when the scholarship money is distributed, and they visit the schools from time to time. In this way, they receive regular updates on their progress. FERC is managed and administered purely by volunteers who meet some of all the associated administrative costs themselves. FERC’s administrative costs are under 4%!

 At the moment, the Bayan Ulgii branch of the university is unable to provide housing for its students, many of whom must seek private, expensive rooms in the town or its surroundings. With a growing number of students, many of whom are from nomadic families living at a great distance from the university, the building of student housing has become an urgent necessity. These donations will be used for the building of a safe, energy-efficient dormitory for 95 students on the university campus, important especially during the long winter when sub-zero temperatures make travel impossible.

Many others are forced to work two jobs in order to meet their rising living costs, which will likely lead to deterioration in the quality of their teaching at the school. This is the vicious cycle that AMA strives to change over time.

 In 2013, founders Santosh More and Khushboo Awasthi, driven by an urge to improve the quality of education for children in India, established Mantra4Change. With 450 million children ready to enter a skill-intensive workforce by 2025, the question looming over them was, if we were equipping our children with 21st-century skills and if we were in fact working towards creating a society one with equal opportunities for all? 
 
 
 
 Started as a pilot program in 2 schools in Bengaluru, Mantra4Change has evolved into an ecosystem builder, contextualizing transformation and change efforts across geographies. Through its School Transformation & Empowerment Project (STEP - low-income private schools), Project for Active Cluster Engagement (PACE - public schools), Systemic Transformation for Resilience, Innovation, and Developing Education Ecosystem (STRIDE - state-level program), and EduMentum (Incubation program for early-stage non-profits), Mantra4Change is building a community to harness collective power to achieve systemic education transformation across India.

   Since 2018, Mantra has been working with the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights to run an assessment-led improvement project in 5500 schools across the state.

A foundation that provides educational opportunities for children trapped in poverty.

Wadah Foundation provides opportunities for children trapped in the spiral of poverty; by assisting them in their education, healthcare and economic empowerment to their families. Wadah Foundation supports children and youth from the urban poor communities in Jakarta and marginalized rural communities in the provinces of West Java, Yogyakarta, East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, North Maluku and West Papua in Indonesia. Wadah Foundation provides access to affordable education to ensure that pre-school children are able to attend school; health assistance to children and the elderly; empower and provide livelihood opportunities for women and community members. To date, Wadah has assisted almost 72,000 preschool children, youth and community members. This year alone, Wadah is assisting about 11,000 preschool children, youths, women and their families.

Sevalaya is a charitable organization headquartered in Chennai, India and doing charitable activities in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Trichy, Thanjavur, Thirunelveli districts in Tamil Nadu state and Puducherry. Sevalaya runs a free school, hospital, medical centers, mobile medical services, community colleges, old age homes, organic farming, gaushala and many other services to the orphan and destitute children, rural youth, senior citizens and animals. All services are provided free of cost to the beneficiaries. Since its inception 31 years ago, Sevalaya has transformed 40 villages of Thiruvallur district, from 100% child labor to 100% literacy. It has nurtured and shaped the lives of 3500+ students, 450+ orphans, given shelter with dignity to 225+ destitute elders, imparted vocational skills and facilitated employment for more than 1100+ rural youth and provided medical aid for 1,34,400+ poor and needy rural folks.   Created in 2014 "El Pasito's" main action has been to purchase modern musical string instruments to be able to loan them to talented young musicians. The Association "El Pasito" is a non profit organization created by Anne and Daniel Postel-Vinay in the aim to develop more philanthropic activities in addition to the actions supported by the Académie musicale de Villecroze. https://www.academie-villecroze.com/fr  The first instrument purchased by El Pasito was a cello Moes&Moes. It was played for an inaugural concert by the great cellist Yo-Yo Ma.  Up to now, "El Pasito" has ordered 4 violins, 3 violas, 5 cellos and 2 bows. Four of these instruments are built specifically to make a string instrument quartet.  The violin makers who built some instruments for El Pasito are French, German ... USA; Moes&Moes, Frank Ravatin, Jurgen Manthey, Charles Coquet, Samuel Zygmuntowicz, Patrick Robin, Francis Kuttner ... and the bow maker Edwin Clément. For the loan, a contract is signed between El Pasito and the musician. To be able to propose various kind of instruments to young musicians and accompany them in different steps of their career, "El Pasito" (which means "little step" in Spanish) is considering the project of buying several "old instruments". The price of those instrument being much higher than modern instruments, it could take several years to have enough money to buy each instrument.  On the 10 next years El Pasito hopes to be able to buy 2 to 4 "old instruments", depending on the price and on the opportunity.

More than 40% of young people living in the 1,500 French priority neighbourhoods are unemployed. Espérance banlieues works to promote the successful integration of children, teenagers, and their families into French society. Acting as a complementary operator within the French national education system, Espérance banlieues aspires to meet the need for educational and cultural equity.  Deeply convinced that inequalities can be overcome, Esperance banlieues has already created 17 schools in or nearby disadvantaged urban areas.  Foundation for Inclusive Community Help (FICH), a community-led organization in Uganda, works with youth, women and families through education, training and providing opportunities. FICH interventions are focused on schools and rural communities. CAMELEON develops a holistic approach to act on the causes and effects of sexual violence towards children and teenagers. 
 
 CAMELEON  has been working in the Philippines for 24 years in order to facilitate the protection, healing and rehabilitation of young girls victim of sexual abuse (5-24 years old). 130 girls are currently protected and helped by CAMELEON : 76 of them are sheltered in our 3 centers based in Silay (Negros) and Passi City (Panay), while 54 girls continue to be guided after they left the center to go back to their families (if safe) or in welcome families accredited by social services. OUR MISSION About 7,000,000 children are sexually abused every year in the Philippines. More than 70% of sexually abused children are between 10 and 18 years old. Among those victims, 20% are under 6 years old. Cases of child sexual abuse are one of the most common issues that the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has to handle after abandonment and neglect. Despite the Anti-Rape Law of 1997, rape remains the most frequent type of sexual abuse, followed by incest and fondling. CAMELEON offers general support to the young girls victim of sexual abuse (basic care, food, education, professional training) and psychological counselling to help them rebuild themselves. The families receive training in parenting to facilitate the reintegration of girls. It also provides legal assistance for the duration of the trial to the girls who wish to sue their perpetrators. The association supports its beneficiaries until the resolution of the conflict and their complete autonomy. Long-Term Impact Thanks to the project, 130 young girls victim of sexual abuse will rebuild themselves and will be resilient. They will build their future thanks to education and skills development. They will know their rights and invoke them in front of the court, which will help fight impunity. The families will change their behavior towards their daughters and promote Children's rights. The communities and local authorities will be mobilized together to prevent and deal with child abuse cases in these areas.  Huchuy Yachaq, a nonprofit based in Cusco, acts with the conviction that a quality education for children and teenagers in vulnerable situations, together with the family bolstering and community organization, contributes to a better future for them. When we started our work in 2006 in the Hermanos Ayar periferic Cusco's zone, we were guided by two main purposes: On the one hand, we aimed to reduce the hours of work in the streets of boys and girls who carried out ambulatory trade activities in the main square of Cusco, washed tombstones in the local cemetery, or washed cars in squares, putting at risk not only their personal integrity but also their schooling. On the other hand, we aimed to strengthen family ties to avoid an early ruptures that would condition the permanence in the street. With this, we intended to improve the conditions and quality of life of children and teenagers at high risk of social deterioration. Currently, we continue working with this purposes through several projects. PROJECTS INITIAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION OF CHARITABLE ACTION (IEIP) "LAS HORMIGUITAS" (2009-running) IEIP "Las Hormiguitas" aims to provide equitable access to quality education at the pre-school level, promoting the integral development of boys and girls, identifying and giving timely attention to bio-psychosocial problems. It involves parents and the community in educational management to guarantee quality education for children under 6 years old. Theatrical techniques, plastic arts and music and choir workshops are incorporated. It is divided in the following projects.           1.Library (2006-running):  Provides services for students from primary and high school, providing books and texts, stationery materials and guidance for completing homework. Through it, we have implemented school leveling and educational reinforcement programs, reintegration into the formal educational system and the program of "solidarity support", which seeks to provide economic aid or educational materials in situations of extreme urgency.        2. Free time program and Maxivacaciones (2006-running) :  Although various courses are offered during school vacations, these are not accessible. For this reason, most children opt to work. So, this program seeks to: reduce the hours that working children spend on the streets, reinforce learning in the key school areas and facilitate the development of social and artistic skills.        3. Assistantship Program (2007-2011, running):  After finishing high school, the lack of economic resources and opportunities makes young people join the already large economically active population in conditions of informality and exploitation. With the purpose of providing them opportunities to continue higher education, a proposal for assistantships is promoted; it seeks to grant economic aid to students of the higher technical or university level TROTABARRIOS: (2022-running) It replicates the experience of Huchuy Yachaq, encompassing recently formed neighborhoods that welcome a large number of families despite the lack of basic services, access to public transportation, etc. It is dynamized by former local volunteers and former users of our programs MAMA KILLA WORKSHOP (2022-running) Its aim is the learning and undertaking for gender equality in times of pandemic. It seeks to expand women productive and technical capacities, trough production of accessories (bags, wallets, backpacks, backpacks, etc.) in many materials. Currently 20 women are training. At Huchuy Yachaq we firmly believe that social change can be achieved through the agency of community members, especially of empowered children and teenagers. It also coordinates access to free medical and paramedical assistance services, managing the contributions that preserve the necessary capital for the maintenance of the programs. FUNDAESPRO also sponsors craft schools and business training, hiring technical personnel necessary for this purpose.                                                                                www.mozlibraryproject.org Vision : The AJUNTOS Moz Library Project helps illiterate youth close the achievement gap by providing access to supplemental education opportunities, learning resources, and community health knowledge, through building and managing Ile's first public library. The  Value  of Literacy: Learning how to read and write can change lives. Literacy increases employment opportunities. Literate individuals earn 64% more than their illiterate counterparts. Literacy has been linked to increasing lifespans. A child born to a mother who can read in a developing country is 50% more likely to survive past the age of 5 years old. Literacy is also linked to public health. Individuals with little or no education are 2.2 times more likely to contract HIV as those who have completed primary education. Identifying the  Need  in Mozambique: According to a 2016 study, Mozambique's youth literacy rate is 68%, compared to the 90% global average. Furthermore, only 37% of the Mozambican population has a comprehensive knowledge of HIV. Increasing literacy rates has been linked to increasing HIV prevention and improving health and wellbeing. The ability to read and write can change lives. Project  History : Courtney Johnson was a Peace Corps volunteer from 2015-2017 and worked as a teacher in Ile, Mozambique. She observed that about 5% her high school students could not read or write. But it was not for lack of effort. Many of her students who were illiterate went to school every day. However, those students turned in tests with only strings of letters and consonants. Illiteracy was a topic of conversation among teachers and community members. However, there was an acute lack of resources that prevented the existing institutions from tackling this issue. In 2015, Courtney began to work with community members to develop a program that would work alongside the existing education system providing supplemental literacy education. The  Mission : The AJUNTOS Moz Library Program is run by a group of community members who are teachers and activists with the shared vision to bring a library to Ile. The library provides both instructional support and resources. Teachers trained in the literacy curriculum will offer lessons with an emphasis on interactive learning strategies. Equally as important, the library will provide resources that may be otherwise unavailable like paper, pens, and electricity to study after dark.  To accomplish the vision of the AJUNTOS Moz Library Project, the mission is threefold: 1) Design a Safe Space 
 Support construction efforts to provide a safe and secure space. 
 Establish access to electricity providing the ability to study after dark. 
 Create a hygienic space with a well for access to water and clean bathrooms. 
 2) Coordinate Library Resources 
 Provide the community with access to resources including tables, chairs, books, pencils, paper, electricity, and computers. 
 Establish a simple, replicable, and interactive literacy curriculum that serves a diversity of learning styles and individualized attention. 
 Train teachers in Curriculum Workshops and train teachers and librarians to use and maintain resources to create a sustainable program. 
 3) Inform Community Health Leverage opportunities to disseminate public health information through classes, murals, and public theater plays. About  Ile, Mozambique : The library is in Mozambique, a country which sits on the southeast coastline of Africa sharing a boarder with South Africa to the south and Tanzania to the north. Ile is a medium-small town with a population of approximately 15,000 people. Ile has 5 elementary schools, 1 high school, a soccer field, a hospital, several stores, and an open-air market. It is primarily an agricultural town with oranges, rice, and beans as the principle crops. The coordinates of the library are 16"02"15"S and 37"10"35"E. October 2021 April 2021 March 2021 February 2021 January 2021 January 2021 Impact of  COVID-19 : With the onset of COVID-19, the AJUNTOS Moz Library Project stopped classes and focused efforts on a campaign to slow the spread of COVID-19. The American Friends of the Papageno Foundation is established to support music therapy research for children with autism in the US.  Music therapy is a well-established professional health discipline that uses music as a the therapeutic stimulus to achieve non-musical treatment and goals. When Aaltje van Zweden-van Buuren and her husband, conductor Jaap van Zweden's, child was born with autism, this had and continues to have a huge impact on the family. In 1997, the couple established the Papageno Foundation. Now, 20 years later, Papageno has made a name for itself in the Netherlands. The Foundation has developed into a multi-faceted organisation which, through all sorts of initiatives and activities, focuses on the development of children and young people with autism: 
 Music therapy:  a national network of 25 qualified music therapists, who provide therapy to children in their homes. 
 Papageno Huis: this centre offers respite and support to children with autism. For the youngsters it is a place to work, to live and to  participate in the community.

   In 2007, the French government selected Strasbourg as a center of excellence for chemistry within the framework of the RTRA (thematic network for advanced research). This International Research Center at the Frontiers of Chemistry brings together 80 teams from different Strasbourg institutes including 250 researchers or members of the faculty, 250 doctoral thesis students and 250 PhDs and technicians.

 The Fund for Congolese Women (FFC)   supports women's grassroots organizations through financial and technical assistance.  FFC is unique - the only women-led grant-giving NGO in the entire DRC. We provide grants to local women-led organizations that are often in the most remote, difficult to reach areas.   Why? We are unshakable believers in local solutions to local issues.  We know that the brave women and girls working at the grassroots level have the solutions. We know that when women become agents of change, they benefit, their families benefit, their communities benefit. Since its inception in 2007, FFC has funded more than 386 projects throughout the Democratic Republic of Congo. We support projects focusing on eliminating sexual violence against women, delivering empowerment programs for women and girls, educating women about HIV/AIDS and reproductive health, and advocating for environmental justice and access to resources and land for women.
